One joke too many
Everything hangs on a single line at a family dinner. Kate says she trusts her husband Dan so completely she’d hand him a hall pass, sure he’d never use it. The table laughs, except her mother, Margot, who finds Dan alone in the kitchen minutes later with a proposal. It’s a tidy, self-contained idea with a clear trigger, and it doesn’t need a holiday, a hotel or a cancelled flight to get going.
The first 65 seconds
Episode 1 does what the description promises, and wastes little time. We saw the dinner table, then the kitchen, where the mother-in-law, in spectacles and green, backs Dan into a corner; by the end there is a kiss. No nudity is shown.
You don’t wait for the premise to arrive here. It lands inside the first minute, which makes the opener a fair test: if the dynamic doesn’t work for you by the end of it, the rest probably won’t change your mind.
The bill
Registering for episode 2 is free and takes an email and password or a Google, Discord or X login; no payment details. After that, each remaining episode is 12 tokens. Thirty-six tokens is about a third of the 100 a Premium month includes, so even on the cheapest plan it uses only a small part of the allowance.
Verdict and alternatives
Worth watching if the set-up makes you smile; it commits early and costs little. Searches for it are still tiny, 10 measured last week, so you’re early. If Margot Vey’s AI twin is the draw, she is also credited on My Bachelor Gift was My Fiancée’s Mom and My Best Friend’s Mom Teaches Pilates. Browse all series for anything else.
